Tuckahoe Update 7-17-2018

WOW!!! Last Friday Jimmy Roberson called our “Rock & Roll Dance” and we had one of the best square dancing evenings. There were seven squares dancing most of the night. We had numerous guests from several clubs. Many ladies had on their “Poodle Skirts” and guys in their jeans and t-shirts, and others in various 50’s attire. We even had “Lucille Ball” dancing with us!! Thanks to Ken Moore who captured it all with group pictures. Everyone was smiling, laughing and just having a great fun evening. Scout provided the “Rock & Roll” décor and banner dedicated to Jimmy as well as yummy refreshments with mini-record cupcakes also dedicated to Jimmy. It was quite festive with the 50’s décor and posters of Elvis, the King of Rock & Roll!! Thanks to Jimmy and Scout, we had a fun “Rock & Roll” Square Dance night!!

This Friday Art Lavigne will be our guest square dance caller. We are looking forward to having Art call for us.

The Richmond square dance community offers this dance annually with all the proceeds going to Henrico County.  This is our way of thanking Henrico County for allowing us to use, free of charge, their schools for our dances and classes.  We are very fortunate to have this arrangement.  We thank Mike and Connie for donating their time and hope you will be able to attend this dance.  If you are unable to attend, please keep in mind that RSARDA will accept and is appreciative of your donations.  Checks should be made payable to Henrico County Dept of Recs and Parks.

Let’s “Load the Boat” with everyone square dancing and enjoying the fun.
